The title of quarterly "production champion" of Tesla has hardly changed hands since the Shanghai Gigafactory opened. As a global export center of the EV maker, the Shanghai Gigafactory helped the company achieve an annualized production rate of 1.5 million vehicles and set a new monthly production record in June this year.
Being Tesla's first factory outside the United States, the Shanghai Gigafactory is of great strategic significance for the company to deeply explore both Chinese and global markets. The introduction of Tesla in Shanghai has driven the development of the automobile industry in Shanghai and its surrounding areas.
The factory has formed together a comprehensive industrial chain covering batteries, chips, autonomous driving system, car interiors, precision machining, and other new energy auto parts in the Yangtze River Delta Area.
