BYD announces foray into PV market of Thailand
Shanghai (ZXZC)- On August 8, BYD Company Limited ("BYD") held a brand conference with RÊVER Automotive, a car dealer focusing on new energy vehicles ("NEVs"), to announce its official entry into Thailand's passenger vehicle ("PV") market.
Thailand's electric vehicle ("EV") market has witnessed an exploding expansion in recent years, said BYD. Nearly 30 automakers from different regions around the world have entered the Thai market, offering around 100,000 jobs to local people. The Thai government expects EVs to account for 30% of the country's total automobile output by 2030, wishing to build Thailand into an important NEV market in Southeast Asia. Both the market prospect and governmental support give BYD an unprecedented opportunity to enter the local EV market.

Liu Xueliang, General Manager of BYD Asia-Pacific Auto Sales Division, said that BYD launched the first batch of full electric taxis in Thailand as far back as 2018, and it would bring more high-quality products to the Thai PV market by teaming up with its authorized dealer, RÊVER Automotive.
BYD will participate in the 39th Thailand International Motor Show to display more models.
Prior to the latest move, BYD has announced its foray into the PV markets of Japan, Germany, and Sweden.
Currently, BYD's NEV footprints have extended to over 400 cities and across 70 countries and regions on 6 continents.
