To realize the strategic goal of "vehicles and batteries going global together", the two companies will also team up on exploring overseas markets.

Prior to the latest move, CATL and Yutong have already conducted a decade-long cooperation since 2012. With their joint efforts to research and develop such technologies as electrical system upgrades, CTP (cell-to-pack) technology applications, and protection of battery system, they have contributed to boosting the electrification progress and technical upgrades for China's CV industry.

CATL said there had been 19GWh CATL's power batteries installed on nearly 150,000 new energy vehicles of Yutong, some of which were exported to over 40 countries and regions, including Qatar, France, the UK, and Spain. Through their partnership, more than 23 million tonnes of carbon emissions have already been reduced.
