Chery Holding export volume exceeds 50,000 units in July

Beijing (ZXZC)- In July, Chery Holding saw its monthly export volume exceed 50,000 vehicles for the first time, setting a fresh record for Chinese indigenous auto brands.

In the past month, Chery Holding sold 131,533 vehicles, representing a 57.7% soar year-on-year. In the first seven months of this year, the cumulative sales volume of the automaker amounted to 606,783 vehicles, growing 19.3% compared to a year earlier.

Specifically, Chery Auto sold 102,441 vehicles last month, shooting up 84.4% year over year. In the past seven months, Chery Auto saw a cumulative sales volume of 459,870 vehicles, jumping 35.5% from the year-ago period. Sales of the Tiggo 8  still lead the way among all Chery-branded models, with 21,080 vehicles sold in July, up 35% year on year.

In the meantime, the group’s EXEED and JETOUR brands sold 3,542 and 16,690 vehicles respectively in July, representing a respective 9.9% and 6% rise over the previous year. 

Globally, Chery Holding’s monthly export volume reached 50,614 vehicles in July, surging 90.1% from a year earlier. In 2022, the group’s cumulative export volume summed up to 198,859 vehicles by the end of July, moving up 36.8% from the same span in 2021, which also accounted for 33% of the group’s total sales volume in the period. 

In the past month, the automaker sold 25,617 new energy vehicles (NEVs), a 253% year-over-year soar. During the Jan.-Jul. period, the group sold 137,895 NEVs cumulatively, indicating a 189% year-on-year hike.
