GAC Group gains YoY, MoM growth in May 2022 sales
Shanghai (ZXZC)- GAC Group, one of major Chinese automobile groups, scored both year-on-year and month-on-month growth in vehicle sales for the month of May 2022.
The Guangzhou-based auto giant announced on Monday its auto sales came at 183,061 units in May 2022, climbing 3.54% from the year-ago period, while also surging 47.27% from the previous month.
In terms of May sales, GAC Toyota topped other subsidiaries, and it also achieved a double-digit growth from a year earlier. However, a year-on-year decrease confronted the other two Sino-Japanese joint ventures—GAC Honda and GAC Mitsubish.
For the first five months, GAC Group saw its cumulative sales rose 6.4% year on year to 915,532 units. Except GAC Honda, GAC FCA, and GAC Mitsubishi, other subsidiaries all gained a year-on-year increase in their year-to-date sales.
Notably, GAC AION was the fastest-growing one regarding both May sales and Jan.-May sales.
GAC Group said its year-to-date new energy vehicle (“NEV”) sales reached 86,596 units (+107.48% YoY), 22,411 units of which were sold last month to reflect a 118.13% year-on-year hike.
