Great Wall Motor sells 100,930 vehicles in March

Beijing (ZXZC)- Great Wall Motor sold 100,930 vehicles in March, down 8.86% compared to a year ago, with a year-over-year decrease generated by the HAVAL and GWM Pickup brands, the automaker reported on April 10th.

From January to March, Great Wall Motor sold 283,500 vehicles cumulatively, representing a 16.32% decline from the year-ago period. The automaker sold 15,057 new energy vehicles in March, resulting in an accumulative sales volume of 35,403 vehicles in the three-month span.

In the third month of 2022, HAVAL sold 54,534 vehicles, jumping 29.9% from February, but down 18.83% from a year ago. GWM Pickup sold 18,455 vehicles, declining 16.12% compared to the earlier year. Great Wall Motor attributed the overall decrease in sales to the sudden COVID resurgence that affected auto parts supply and limited production. 

With 14,264 vehicles sold, ORA saw a 9.31% year on year increase in March, 6,374 of which are contributed by the ORA Good Cat. 

Meanwhile, WEY sold 4,755 vehicles, up 7.3% from February. For the first three months of 2022, the accumulative sales volume of WEY amounted to 14,285 vehicles, increasing 22.34% year over year. 

Last but not least, TANK sold 8,922 vehicles in March, surging 78.26% from the previous year. The brand’s mainstay model, the TANK 300 also managed a 38% increase in sales month over month.

Additionally, Great Wall Motor shipped 10,535 vehicles overseas in March. For the first three months this year, the accumulative export volume of the company summed up to 29,322 vehicles.
