Beijing (ZXZC)- Dongfeng Motor Group Corporation (DFMG) released its 2021 annual performance report on April 1st, with positive growth in annual revenue and net profit.

In 2021, the group’s revenue amounted to RMB113.01 billion ($17.81 billion), increasing 4.2% year over year. Its net profit attributable to shareholders equaled RMB11.39 billion ($1.79 billion), up 5.8% from a year ago. 

The report showed that Dongfeng Passenger Vehicle, Dongfeng Peugeot Citroën, Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor, VOYAH, and Dongfeng Finance were the main contributors to the group’s revenue in 2021. Specifically, the significant growth in its passenger vehicle business sector helped drive the DFMG’s profitability.

In 2021, the group’s passenger vehicle sector brought in RMB32.55 billion ($5.13 billion) in revenue, surging 92.1% year over year. Meanwhile, its commercial vehicle sector earned RMB71.25 billion ($11.23 billion), down 14.7% compared to a year ago.

In the past year, DFMG sold a total of 2.775 million vehicles, 2.253 million were passenger vehicles, and 522,600 were commercial vehicles, dropping 2.6% and 5.8% year on year, respectively. 

The group’s new energy vehicle sector sold roughly 161,000 vehicles in 2021, indicating a 263.3% soar from the earlier year. The group’s high-end new energy vehicle brand VOYAH delivered 6,791 vehicles during its five months of delivery in 2021.
