JAC Group overfulfils 2021 annual sales target with BEV sales soaring 169.12% YoY

China’s auto group, JAC Group, released its December sales performance, with positive monthly and yearly growth in 2021, overfulfilling its annual sales target.

According to the report, JAC Group sold 42,000 vehicles in December, representing a 14.73% increase year on year. The cumulative sales volume of the automaker amounted to 524,000 vehicles in the year 2021, rising 15.63% compared to a year ago.

VW increases stake in joint venture with JAC Group

China’s major automaker JAC Motors announced that it had completed a private offering with RMB2 billion raised.

The announcement specifies that Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Corp.,Ltd. (JAC Group)  has issued 290,697,674 shares to Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Holdings Limited (JAC Holdings), priced at RMB6.88 per share, raising a total of RMB1,999,999,997.12, resulting in a net amount of RMB1,979,304,688.30 after other deductions.

Xiaomi declines to comment on rumored acquisition of JAC Group’s shares

Xiaomi has no deliberation with JAC Group regarding either contract manufacturing or acquisition of equity interests, the young electric vehicle player told a local media outlet, in response to a recent rumor saying Xiaomi plans to acquire stake in the Hefei-based automaker.

“We decline to comment on this rumor,” said Xiaomi.

JAC’s Sehol said to launch two new NEV models in 2022

Sehol, a car brand owned by the joint venture between JAC Group and Volkswagen Group, will launch two new NEV models, namely, the E50A Pro and the E60X, in 2022, according to a local media outlet.

To diversify its products, Sehol is said to build a new full-sized car platform, under which two or three new models will be launched per year.

JAC-NIO Advanced Manufacturing Center completes staged upgrade for production lines

A phased upgrade for the production lines at the JAC-NIO Advanced Manufacturing Center in Hefei was completed on October 15, according to NIO, paving the way for future introduction of new vehicle models and capacity expansion.

The renovation works commenced in early 2021. To minimize the influence on vehicle production, NIO and JAC finished critical modification works of the car body, painting, and assembly workshops during the past half a month, which embraced the weeklong National Day Holiday.

JAC Group reveals teamwork with Huawei on autonomous driving sensors, smart cockpit

Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (JAC Group), a state-controlled automaker based in Hefei, is carrying out all-round and in-depth collaboration with Huawei on such fields as core sensors for autonomous driving, MDC (Mobile Data Centers), and smart cockpit, the company recently said to reply a question raised on an investor service platform of Shanghai Stock Exchange.

The collaboration between two companies dated back to December 2019 when they inked a framework agreement for the teamwork on intelligent vehicle solutions, enterprise informatization, smart industrial park, and intelligent factory.

JAC continues to offer NIO contract manufacturing service for three years

NIO announced on May 24 it has signed agreements with Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Co.,Ltd. (JAC) and Jianglai Advanced Manufacturing Technology (Anhui) Co.,Ltd. (Jianglai) for the joint production of NIO's vehicles and relevant fee arrangements, marking a continuity of the EV contract manufacturing service JAC had offered to NIO for five years.

According to NIO, JAC is a Chinese state-owned car manufacturer who is currently responsible for manufacturing NIO's vehicles in delivery, including the ES8, the ES6, and the EC6 at the JAC-NIO manufacturing plant in Hefei. Jianglai is a 51:49 joint venture between JAC and NIO.

JAC Group, Sinotrans team up on supply chain service, smart logistics

Hefei-based automaker JAC Group on March 22 signed a framework agreement with Sinotrans Limited, one of the largest logistics companies in China, to co-build a highly efficient modern automotive logistics service system by leveraging both parties’ advantageous resources.

Under the agreement, two parties will carry out strategic cooperation on the domestic and global supply chain services, supply chain finance service, digital collaboration, smart logistics and vehicle procurement.

NIO Holding, JAC Motors to set up joint venture in Hefei

The Anhui-based automaker JAC Motors and NIO Holding Ltd. signed on March 4 a letter of intent for the establishment of a joint venture in Hefei, where NIO China is headquartered, according to JAC Motors’ announcement.

Under the letter of intent, both parties intend to deepen their cooperation on advanced manufacturing, management of services and supply chain related to intelligent-connected new energy vehicles.

Second JAC-NIO joint manufacturing base put out to tender

JAC Motors is soliciting bids from contractors for a construction project of new energy passenger vehicle (NEPV)-related car body component factory, according to Anhui Hefei Public Resource Trading Center.

The project is launched for building NIO's second joint manufacturing base run by JAC Motors as the capacity of the first factory is short of the sale demand, according to a local media outlet, quoting a person responsible for the project.
