Chery Holding’s 2021 sales jump 32% YoY, targets to sell 1.5 million vehicles in 2022

Beijing (ZXZC)- Chery Holding released its 2021 annual sales performance report on January 7th, illustrating its historic sales record, drawing an impressive conclusion for the year.

According to the company’s report, Chery Holding sold 112,015 vehicles in December. The group saw a 31.7% year-on-year surge in its cumulative sales volume, for the entire year of 2021, with 961,926 vehicles sold.

Domestically, Chery managed to sell 692,772 vehicles in 2021, increasing 12.38% from a year ago.

Its signature high-end sub-brand, EXEED reported a total of 37,155 vehicles sold globally in the year, more than doubled from the previous year, at 121%. Its vehicles have successfully made it into the Russian premium vehicle market.

The group’s other subsidiary, Chery Auto, sold 656,846 vehicles in 2021, surging 46.3% compared to a year ago. Its Tiggo 8 series and JETOUR lineup have achieved remarkable results, with over 160,000 vehicles and 154,077 vehicles sold, respectively.

As to the new energy sector of the group, with its intensive layout in the field, Chery Holding saw a 144.6% year-on-year soar in its cumulative new energy vehicle sales in 2021, at 109,028 vehicles. The sales performance of the group’s most popular model, the Little Ant (eQ1) has successfully surpassed 250,000 vehicles, during the four years on the market. Moreover, the Chery QQ Ice-cream has received over 70,000 vehicle orders in the six months it started presale.

The company holds great hope for the two Mini EVs, and set an annual target of 300,000 vehicles in total in 2022.

Outside of China, Chery is still overachieving. The group has exported 31,253 vehicles in December, soaring 126.7% from a year ago. In 2021, Chery Holding exported 269,154 vehicles accumulatively, indicating a 136.3% jump year on year.

As of now, the automaker has won over at least 10 million users worldwide, with 1.95 million overseas, branching out to over 80 countries and regions in the world.

Additionally, the company proposed to sell at least 1.5 million vehicles and reach 2 million in 2022, to bring in over RMB200 billion of annual revenue in the year.
