Car and City: October 2021 insurance registrations of BYD Dolphin
Beijing (ZXZC)- Insurance registrations of the BYD Dolphin surged 130% in October when compared with the volume of September, and the cumulative registrations of the city car amounted to 5,821 vehicles since it hit the market at the end of August, according to data from China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission (CBIRC).
Out of all the BYD Dolphins registered, only 14 were for renting, seven registered in September and the other in October. Most of the vehicles, 5,375, were registered by individual customers while the rest were registered by companies.
Among the top 10 cities by the BYD Dolphin’s October registrations, eight cities had a registration volume of over 100 vehicles. Below the top 10 cities, Beijing ranked 11th with a total of 87 Dolphins registered.
Shanghai remained the champion by the total registrations since the BYD Dolphin hit the market while Beijing managed to enter into the top 10 list by cumulative registrations with 137 Dolphins registered.
BYD Company officially launched its “Ocean” network at the Auto Guangzhou 2021 in November. The “Ocean” network, a comprehensive sales network, covers two product series, the battery electric marine animal series built on e-platform 3.0, and the warship series equipped with its DM-i hybrid technologies. Information from BYD’s official website shows that the dealer of the Dolphin has become BYD Ocean network.
