By virtue of the technology advantages from both parties, they will conduct joint development and in-depth cooperation in intelligent vehicle segment. Moreover, the companies will join hands with partners from the industry chain to develop solutions for pre-integration and mass production of the advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and the advanced autonomous driving systems, accelerating the intelligence transformation of the industry.

As an automotive electronic solutions provider, NXP Semiconductors offers comprehensive solutions for safe, connected vehicles. NXP’s S32G high-performance processor can significantly enhance calculated performance while simplifying software complexity. The S32G has been adopted by major OEMs globally, driving the transformation into domain-controller-based vehicle electrical/electronic architecture.

As a Tier-2 Edge-AI technology company, Horizon Robotics possesses leading development ability in AI deep learning and reasoning algorithms. The company provides highly efficient auto-grade intelligent chips, software algorithms, and toolchains for the intelligent industry. Horizon debuted its Journey 3 high-efficiency auto-grade intelligent chip in 2020, whose mass production started in 2021. The newest generation in Horizon’s Journey series, the Journey 5, possesses high performance and strong computing power (128 TOPS single-chip AI computing power), supporting a 16-cameras perceptual computing. The Journey 5 satisfied intelligent vehicles’ requirements of multi-sensor integration, projecting, and planning control.

The duo will utilize their own featured products to create a more efficient and more comprehensive solution for ADAS, autonomous driving, and vehicle intelligence interaction systems. Under the agreement, the companies will co-develop solutions for integrated parking/driving and Navigate on Autopilot (NOA) based on Horizon’s Journey 3 and NXP’s S32G. In addition, the companies will produce an all-scenario vehicle intelligence solution based on Horizon’s Journey 5 and NXP’s S32G.
