GAC Group July sales down slightly
Beijing (ZXZC)- GAC Group sold 180,518 new vehicles in July with a slight year-on-year decrease of 1.86%, according to the sales report of the company. For the first seven months of this year, its cumulative sales jumped nearly 20% to 1,207,023 vehicles.
Last month, the group produced 163,729 vehicles, down 19.1% from a year earlier while its total production volume in the past seven months increased by 16.56% to 1,165,175 vehicles.
Among all its joint ventures, only GAC Toyota achieved year-on-year sales growth in July. With more than 75,000 vehicles sold in July, GAC Toyota’s monthly sales saw an increase of 0.76% versus the same month of last year. GAC Honda and GAC Hino also had sales increase in terms of the cumulative sales of the first seven months.

Relatively speaking, the group’s self-owned business outperformed the joint ventures in sales growth. Monthly sales of GAC Motor jumped 26.4% to nearly 30,000 vehicles while sales of GAC Aion more than doubled in July.
Last month, the group sold 11,909 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in total, representing a surge of 80.9% year on year. By the end of July, its NEV sales of this year jumped 84.1% year on year to 63,457 vehicles. In July, there were more than 16,000 newly-added orders in GAC Aion.
