Geely Auto April 2021 sales edge down 5% year on year

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Geely Automobile Holdings Limited (Geely Auto) announced on May 10 its new vehicle sales (including the sales of its subsidiaries) reached 100,331 units in April 2021, dropping around 5% from the previous year, while remaining flat from the previous month.

Among the new vehicles sold last month, 3,787 units were new energy and electrified vehicles, (NEEVs), including the Geometry As, the Geometry Cs, the Emgrand EVs and the Emgrand GSes.

According to the latest sales results, Geely Auto and its subsidiaries (called “the Group” collectively) sold 91,753 vehicles in the China market last month, representing a decrease of about 9% from a year earlier. Meanwhile, the Group’s export volume surged 96% over a year earlier to 8,578 units.

For the first four months of the year, the Group saw its sales leap 39% year over year to 433,907 units, completing 28% of its full-year sales target of 1.53 million units.

In April, the Group sold 41,115 sedans, 58,897 SUVs and 319 MPVs respectively.

Regarding the new models, the Geely Emgrand S and the Vision X3 PRO hit the market last month to further enrich Geely brand's product lineup. Besides, the Geometry A Pro went on sale at the Auto Shanghai 2021.

The sales of Lynk & Co-branded vehicles amounted to 19,021 units in April, zooming up around 87% over the year-ago period.

Lynk & Co showcased at the Auto Shanghai the SPA (scalable product architecture) modular platform. The brand's first SPA-based vehicle is named “Lynk & Co 09”. Besides, Lynk & Co's PHEV family has been further expanded after the presale of the Lynk & Co 05 PHEV starting at the motor show.
