SAIC-GM-Wuling sees 2020 annual sales exceed 1.6 million units
Shanghai (ZXZC)- SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW), a joint venture between General Motors and two Chinese automakers, said its full-year sales reached 1,600,057 units last year. As of December 2020, the company achieved growth compared to both the previous year and the previous month for the ninth month in a row.

Wuling brand sold a total of 1,177,507 new vehicles through 2020 and was posting year-on-year increase for nine consecutive months. It hit the 2.2 million-unit outputs milestone on May 25. In addition, the sales of the Wuling Victory, the first flagship model bearing the new Wuling Global Silver badge, totaled 22,524 units within two months.

New Baojun brand saw its annual sales in 2020 leap 70% over the year-ago period to 154,005 units. Its product lineup covers SUV, car and new energy vehicle (NEV) segments, embracing such models as the RS-3, the RC-5/RC-5W and the E300.
SGMW said its NEV sales surged 190% from the prior-year period to 174,005 units in 2020, of which 127,651 units were the Hongguang MINI EVs. Notably, the mini-sized all-electric car was crowned the best-selling NEV model in China for three straight months.
Last year, a total of 77,376 complete vehicles and knock-down kits were exported to 40 countries in Central and South America, Africa, Middle East and Southeast Asia, said the automaker. The overseas business brought 3.46 billion yuan ($533.53 million) in annual sales to SGMW. The Baojun 530 crossover SUV were exported to 21 countries and the Baojun 510 were sold to South America.
