Nissan Motor posts 3.8% YoY dip in September China sales

Beijing (ZXZC)- On October 10, Nissan Motor unveiled its performance results for September 2024 in the Chinese market with 61,395 vehicles sold across its passenger vehicle and light-duty commercial vehicle segments, representing a 3.8% notch down year-on-year.

In September, Dongfeng Nissan, which encompasses the Nissan, Venucia, and INFINITI brands, recorded a combined sales volume of 57,741 vehicles, dropping 5.81% from that of a year ago.

Meanwhile, the light-duty commercial vehicle segment, represented by Zhengzhou Nissan, sold 3,654 vehicles in the past month, representing a 45% year-over-year surge.

From January to September, Nissan's cumulative sales in the Chinese market, covering both passenger vehicles and light-duty commercial vehicles, stood at 496,998 vehicles.

Earlier in June this year, Dongfeng Nissan unveiled the "Dongfeng Nissan RE-CHARGE 100 Action Plan", aiming to rejuvenate the brand’s market presence.

By the end of 2026, Dongfeng Nissan plans to introduce seven new energy vehicle (NEV) models. Additionally, a brand management committee will be established to enhance brand strategy, and unprecedented investments will be made in R&D to fully transition to NEVs and advance vehicle intelligence.
