Shanghai (ZXZC)- On September 25, NIO announced a new partnership with Sinopec, enabling NIO users to access Sinopec's nationwide network of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations through the NIO app, NIO Power app, and NIO's in-car systems.

Under the agreement, from September 25 onwards, both NIO and ONVO brands' users will be able to locate, navigate, activate, and pay for Sinopec charging stations via their respective apps, providing a more streamlined and efficient charging experience. This collaboration is expected to bring additional convenience to NIO and ONVO users, particularly during the upcoming National Day holiday travel period.

ONVO, the carmaker's fresh sub-brand, revealed in a WeChat post on September 23 that its L60 model will have access to over 1,000 of NIO brand's battery swap stations by the end of this year. These stations include NIO's third- and fourth-generation battery swap stations.

Since June this year, NIO has been upgrading its third-generation power swap stations to the fourth-generation ones. Once upgrades are completed, ONVO L60 owners will be able to use these shared stations. Since July, all new power swap stations constructed by NIO are fourth-generation, and ONVO vehicles will be compatible with them by default.

Additionally, during NIO's "Power UP 2024" event on August 20, NIO Power introduced its "Power Up Counties" plan. This ambitious plan aims to significantly expand NIO's charging and battery swap network across China. By June 30, 2025, NIO intends to have charging stations in every county, with battery swap stations covering over 2,300 county-level administrative regions across 27 provinces by the end of 2025. Starting in 2026, NIO will extend this coverage to the remaining provinces, ensuring every county in China has access to NIO's battery swap services.
