Positioned as a mid-to-large SUV, the HS7 PHEV measures 4,995 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,760 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm—dimensions identical to the 2023 petrol version of the HS7. To distinguish itself from the petrol model, the PHEV variant features a "PHEV" badge beneath the right tail light.

Inside, the HS7 PHEV sports a symmetrical design, equipped with a three-spoke steering wheel, electronic gear shifter, and a vertically oriented central control screen. It offers two seating layouts: a 2+2+2 six-seat arrangement and a 2+3+2 seven-seat arrangement, with the six-seat version featuring independent second-row seats.

Standard features across both trims include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.6-inch central touchscreen, voice recognition, OTA updates, 4G connectivity, remote control via mobile app, 253-color ambient lighting, and a 360-degree camera system. The higher-spec trim adds amenities such as a welcome function for seats and steering wheel, electric and heated steering wheel adjustments, a power tailgate, AR-HUD, NFC/RFID keys, second-row seat heating, a 12-speaker Dynaudio sound system, rear collision warning, cross-traffic alert, door opening warning, and traffic sign recognition.

Powering the Hongqi HS7 PHEV is a 2.0T plug-in hybrid system, delivering a combined maximum power of 358 kW and a top speed of 180 km/h. It pairs with a dedicated single-speed DHT hybrid transmission and an all-wheel-drive system. The vehicle's 20.1 kWh battery provides a battery-powered range of 83 km, with a combined range exceeding 1,100 km.
