Shanghai (ZXZC)- On August 30, BYD introduced its new all-electric mid-sized sedan under its Ocean series, the Seal 06GT, at the Chengdu Motor Show 2024. The vehicle is now available for blind pre-orders, with prices ranging from 150,000 yuan to 200,000 yuan.

The Seal 06GT measures 4,630 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,490 mm in height, drawing heavily from the design elements of the OCEAN-M concept car. The car embodies a youthful and dynamic aesthetic. The interior design is minimalistic, blending the flowing, graceful lines of ocean-inspired aesthetics with a sense of speed and tension. The Seal 06GT offers a generous wheelbase of 2,820 mm, providing spaciousness typical of mid-sized sedans.

The Seal 06GT capitalizes on the e-Platform 3.0 Evo, incorporating innovations in powertrain, chassis, and body structure to create a comprehensive vehicle safety design for electric cars. The rear-wheel-drive architecture enhances front-crash safety by expanding the crumple zone, improving frontal collision safety by 60%. It features a front-mounted safety force transfer structure that ensures smoother force distribution and boosts the cabin’s anti-deformation capability by 50%. The car's body is built with a TRB-integrated hot-formed front bulkhead and a 1,500 MPa ultra-high-strength closed roll-formed crossbeam. Together with BYD's Blade Battery, these elements form an inner skeletal CTB safety architecture. The Seal 06GT comes standard with 11 airbags, ensuring comprehensive protection for occupants.

To address the charging efficiency concerns of electric vehicle users, the Seal 06GT is equipped with an 800V silicon carbide high-voltage platform, offering a more efficient and convenient EV experience. It also features BYD's proprietary intelligent current-boosting fast-charging technology, supporting all charging scenarios without compatibility issues. The car can charge from 80% to 100% of its battery capacity in just 18 minutes, enabling users to start their journeys with a full charge whenever needed.

In terms of intelligent technology, the Seal 06GT stands out, catering to younger customers who prioritize intelligent features. It includes the advanced DiLink 100 smart cockpit, offering full-scene intelligent voice control, dual desktop map wallpapers, and 3D vehicle control functions for a high-value smart cabin experience. The Seal 06GT also comes with the DiPilot advanced driver assistance system, which enables Level 2 smart driving features like lane navigation and automatic parking.

The Seal 06GT is available in both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive layouts. Its double ball-joint MacPherson front suspension combined with a five-link independent rear suspension decouples handling from ride comfort. This setup improves braking stability and acceleration control compared to traditional MacPherson and multi-link designs, ensuring safety and comfort while enhancing the driving experience. The all-wheel-drive version is equipped with a super iTAC (intelligent torque adaption control) system and FSD (frequency selective damping) shock absorbers, allowing the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds.
