DENZA begins presale of DENZA Z9GT, Z9 models, unveils e³ technology platform
Shanghai (ZXZC)- On August 20, DENZA, the premium car brand majority-backed by BYD, officially launched the presale of its two flagship models, the Z9GT and Z9, with prices ranging from 339,800 yuan to 419,800 yuan. Alongside these models, DENZA also introduced its groundbreaking new technology platform, the "e³," which will globally debut in the Z9GT model.

BYD said DENZA has integrated its proprietary e³ platform with other advanced technologies like DiSus intelligent body control system and the God's Eye intelligent driving system, creating a unique architecture that exemplifies the concept of "Integrated Vehicle Intelligence." This architecture is designed to offer an unparalleled driving experience. BYD has innovated in the underlying architecture to develop the optimal three-motor power solution, creating the exclusive e³ platform specifically for DENZA.
The automaker touts the e³ platform as the world's first vehicle intelligence control platform that achieves independent control of three motors and independent steering for the dual rear motors. It combines the advantages of BYD's fifth-generation DM technology, the e-platform 3.0 Evo, and other cutting-edge innovations, resulting in a world-leading hybrid electric platform. This platform seamlessly integrates the power architecture, combining the hybrid and pure electric systems with the three-motor independent drive and rear dual-motor independent steering control architecture, offering powerful performance, agile handling, and a safe and comfortable driving experience.

Built on four core technologies—independent three-motor drive, dual-motor rear-wheel independent steering, VMC (vehicle motion control), and CTB (cell to body)—the e³ platform delivers five signature features: extreme steering precision, compass-like U-turns, e³ parking, low-friction road stability, and intelligent crab-walking capabilities.
Additionally, the e³ platform also includes such features as high-speed blowout stability control, enhanced braking stability, reverse stability, and radar-based proactive collision avoidance, ensuring comprehensive safety and improving vehicle agility across all driving scenarios.
Furthermore, the e³ platform marks a significant industry milestone with the introduction of an end-to-end large model, fully integrated with BYD's Integrated Vehicle Intelligence strategy. BYD has heavily invested in smart driving technologies, in-house developing a vehicle computing platform and establishing a dedicated perception lab, an end-to-end model team, and an AI supercomputing center. As of July, BYD had equipped over 3.5 million vehicles with Level 2 intelligent driving capabilities. DENZA will continue to update and iterate its software based on the God's Eye intelligent driving assistance system, with the Z9GT being the first model to feature BAS 3.0+.
Thanks to the e³ platform, the DENZA Z9GT delivers exceptional performance and handling, with nearly 1,000 horsepower from its three-motor system, achieving 0-100 km/h acceleration in around 3 seconds. The Z9GT also demonstrates outstanding agility, with a moose test result of 93.6 km/h and a turning radius of just 4.62 meters.
Denza explained the naming of the Z9GT: the "Z" series represents the brand's sedan lineup, with letter "Z" symbolizing technology and excellence, and "9" denoting the flagship model. The "GT" suffix stands for Grand Tourer, reflecting the vehicle's luxury performance characteristics. In terms of design, the Z9GT adopts a new aesthetic that sets it apart from other DENZA models. Under the "Elegance in Motion" design philosophy, it features a more traditional GT sports car look with distinct stylistic elements.

The Z9GT's front end is defined by a corona-inspired grille with an aggressive X-shape converging toward the center. The optimized hood design gives the vehicle a low, sporty stance, while the wide and powerful air intakes on the front bumper exude a sense of combat readiness, housing advanced hardware like LiDAR and millimeter-wave radar. The split-type headlight design adds visual impact, enhancing the coupe-like appearance.

The side profile of the Z9GT is characterized by a sleek "Z" decorative line, hidden door handles, and narrow windows, all of which contribute to a fashion sports car aesthetic. The car's silhouette is long and streamlined, with a forward-leaning cabin, a rearward-shifted center of gravity, and an elegant GT stance. The D-pillar design hints at a shooting brake style, conveying a futuristic yet compact appearance. The Z9GT measures 5,180 mm in length, 1,990 mm in width, and 1,500 mm (or 1,480 mm) in height, with a wheelbase of 3,125 mm.
At the launch event, the DENZA Z9 sedan also made its debut, joining the Z9GT as part of DENZA's dual flagship lineup. The Z9 will also ride on the e³ vehicle intelligence control platform, catering to a wide range of user needs, from business to family use.
