2025 Chery Tiggo 9 and Tiggo 9 C-DM launched starting at 21,750 USD

On September 25, the 2025 Chery Tiggo 9 and Tiggo 9 C-DM were officially launched. The new Tiggo 9 is offered in five trims with a price range of 152,900 – 203,900 yuan (21,750 – 29,000 USD) while the new Tiggo 9 C-DM plug-in hybrid variant is offered in two trims with a price range of 165,900 – 175,900 yuan (23,600 – 25,000 USD). Both 5- and 7-seater layouts are available.

In August 2024, the Tiggo 9 series sold 4,914 units, accounting for 9.20% of Chery’s total sales and ranking 56th in SUV sales in China. For the first eight months of 2024, the cumulative sales of the Tiggo 9 series were 33,183 units, ranking 58th in SUV sales.

For the exterior, the 2025 Chery Tiggo 9’s front face adopts a larger and denser straight waterfall-style grille. The body shape is consistent with the 2024 model. Design elements including the hidden door handles, floating roof, roof racks, and electric tailgate are not absent. However, the rims are more dense. Additionally, the new car is available in five exterior colors: black, silver, gray, and two shades of white.

At the same time, the dimensions remained unchanged: 4820/1930/1699 (1710) mm, with a wheelbase of 2820 mm, positioned as a medium-sized SUV. The curb weights are 1719 kg, 1766 kg, and 1832 kg.

Power comes from Chery’s Kunpeng 2.0TGDI direct injection turbocharged engine that outputs a maximum power of 192 kW (257 hp) and a peak torque of 400 Nm, mated to a 7DCT or 8AT. The fuel tank capacity is 65 L and the WLTC comprehensive fuel consumption range is 7.5 L – 8.5 L per 100 km. Some trims are equipped with continuous damping and a real-time four-wheel drive system with seven driving modes.

The interior retains the design of the previous model, covered in a large area of ​​soft material. The cockpit features a 24.6-inch dual-screen comprised of the instrument panel and central control screen, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. A 50-inch AR-HUD is also present.

Other standard configurations include 256-color ambient lighting, a rear center armrest, adjustable rear seat backrests, front-seat map pocket + umbrella slot, and level 2 advanced driving assistance capabilities such as forward collision warning, rear cross-traffic collision warning, rear collision warning, and hill-start assist control.

Tiggo 9 C-DM

The Tiggo 9 C-DM has the same appearance and interior as that of the new Tiggo 9 and has dimensions of 4820/1930/1712 mm, a wheelbase of 2820 mm, and a curb weight of 1935 kg. Two new green exterior body colors are added.

Furthermore, the Tiggo 9 C-DM’s plug-in hybrid system consists of a Chery fifth-generation ACTECO 1.5TGDI hybrid engine (115 kW (154 hp)/220 Nm) and a front electric motor (165 kW (221 hp)/390 Nm), mated to a 3DHT. The 19.43 kWh ternary lithium battery pack supplied by Gotion provides a CLTC pure electric range of 106 km (or WLTC 82 km). Under a full tank and charge, the official WLTC comprehensive range is 1400+ km. Six driving modes are supported: HEV, EV, EV+, normal, economy, and sports.
