On May 30, Great Wall Motor opened its new Haval H6 for pre-order, in which a 99 yuan (14 USD) deposit can be used to get 3,000 yuan (423 USD) off the purchase price, along with six additional benefits. Consumers can choose from five models, namely three 1.5T and two 2.0T models. A plug-in hybrid model equipped with Great Wall Motor’s Hi4 system will launch in the future. The official pricing info has not been announced at this time.

The Haval H6 was first launched on August 25, 2011. Over the years, Great Wall Motor subsequently launched several more variants.

The new Haval H6 adopts a new design language. The front grille area is enlarged and decorated with matrix chrome elements. The ‘7’-shaped headlights on both sides have also been re-designed.

The round rear features a small roof spoiler, sharp taillights, and the English Haval logo at the center.

From the side, more blackened elements are introduced to the new Haval H6. Built based on Great Wall Motor’s LEMON platform, the new Haval H6 measures 4703/1886/1730 mm with a 2738 mm wheelbase. The car runs on 225/55 R19 tires.

The cockpit is equipped with a 10.25-inch LCD instrument panel, a 14.6-inch central control screen, a traditional steering wheel, and a 9-inch HUD (available only on high-end models). The number of physical buttons has been minimized. The car’s Coffee OS operating system is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip.

Other configurations include 50W wireless charging for mobile phones, front seat heating and ventilation, and a level 2 advanced driving assistance system with more than 20 functions. In addition, the trunk space is deeper with a standard volume of 560 L, and can be expanded to 1485 L after the rear seats are folded down.

Power will come from either a 1.5T (front-wheel drive) or a 2.0T engine (front-wheel drive & four-wheel drive). The 1.5T engine outputs 135 kW and 275 Nm, which is consistent with the current high-power version; and mated to a 7-speed DCT. The maximum power of the 2.0T engine is increased from the current 155 kW to 175 kW, and the peak torque is 385 Nm, mated to a 9-speed DCT.
