FAW-Volkswagen fulfills 89% of annual sales goal

Shanghai (ZXZC)-With a total of 1,895,696 new vehicles (including Audi imported vehicles) delivered from January through November, FAW-Volkswagen has already accomplished 89% of its 2019 sales target. The Changchun-based automaker saw its November retail sales edge up 3.9% year on year (YoY) to 210,856 units. 

The VW brand, Audi brand, and Jetta brand delivered 131,478 units, 67,300 units (+16.9%), 12,078 units respectively in November while their respective cumulative sales in the first eleven months were 1,249,459 units, 617,533 units (+3.7%) and 28,704 units.

Specifically, the VW brand’s monthly SUV sales reached 34140 units, of which 22,309 units were from the Tayron model and the T-ROC’s sales surgd 29.4% from the year-ago period to 11,629. Their total sales from Jan. to November amounted to 142,075 units and 109,886 units respectively. The brand’s monthly car sales totaled 97,338 units in November with the Bora and the Sagitar contributing 36,016 units (+55.7%) and 35,299 units (+20.4%). For the first eleven months, the two models’ sales were 284,671 units (+29.5%) and 270,304 units.

As to the Audi brand’s locally-produced models, the Audi Q5L had a monthly delivery volume of 14,100 units with an impressive YoY jump of 62.8%. The sales of the Audi A6L grew 13.6% over the previous year to 16,541 units. The year-to-date sales of the Audi Q5L, the A6L, and the A4L reached 124,250 units (+12.3%), 112,727 units and 154,252 units (+4.0%) respectively. In addition, 51,815 imported vehicles of the brand were delivered through November. 

FAW-VW’s third sub-brand Jetta saw the VA3 and the VS5, its only two models on sale, have a sales volume of 12,078 units in Nov. and 28,704 units from Jan. to Nov. (photo source: FAW-Volkswagen).
