​Proton unveils new logo, aims to be a global brand

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Proton released its new logo and tagline on September 24.

Compared to the old logo, the new one is in circular shape but with all the design elements of the previous one. Featuring a new ‘uncaged’ design, the logo features the tiger’s head held high, symbolizing PROTON like an arrow-head, moving forward to success.

Accompanying the logo is PROTON’s new tagline ‘Inspiring Connections’ which shows the brand aspires to help make human connections that inspire a successful life. 

The automaker also emphasized its three core values in the statement, namely innovative technology, reliability and international.

Geely Holding group signed agreement with Malaysian automotive-to-insurance conglomerate RB-HICOMD to take 49.9% equity in Proton in June, 2017. One year and a half later, they launched their first co-developed vehicle Proton X70. 

Recently, Proton has become the only auto brand whose auto sales realized double-digit growth in Malaysia. As one of the five auto brands in Malaysia, Proton’s sales of vehicles in the first eight months of 2019 reached 61,396, very close to its annual sales last year (64,744). There are good reasons to believe that the sales volume from January to September will exceed the annual one in 2018. 

Proton is scheduled to have its sales volume reaching 500,000 units in 2027, thus being the No.1 brand again in Malaysia. It aims to become one of the top three brands among the ASEAN in 10 years as well.
