Shanghai (ZXZC)- On December 16, Geely Auto officially kicked off the global presale of the Galaxy E8, the first battery electric vehicle (BEV) model under its new energy vehicle range "Galaxy".

The new model comes with five trim levels – the 550km Pro, the 550km MAX, the 665km Starship Long-range Edition, the 665km Starship Intelligent-driving Edition, and the 620km Starship Performance Edition, with a starting pre-sale price of 188,000 yuan. It is set for market launch and delivery in the first month of 2024.

The Geely Galaxy E8 debuted the immersive "Galaxy Full-view Intelligent Cockpit." This cockpit features a 45-inch 8K borderless smart screen, touted as the best in class for screen size, clarity, slim design, and screen-to-body ratio, all of which are touch-sensitive.

Powered by the "Galaxy Super Brain" consisting of "Cloud Brain," "Car Brain," and "Phone Brain," the Geely Galaxy E8 promises a new era of intelligent travel. The "Cloud Brain" - Geely Xingrui Intelligent Computing Center monitors 24/7, the "Car Brain" employs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip, offering 8 times the computing power compared to the 8155 chip, and the "Phone Brain" utilizes the Flyme Link feature for seamless application integration.

Additionally, the Galaxy E8 runs on the Galaxy N OS Borderless Edition, featuring 3D desktop, Time Engine, Interactive Dynamic Island, and Intelligent Energy Control functions, delivering a more immersive and realistic visual experience. According to the carmaker, the intelligent voice interaction responds in just 0.23 seconds, enabling users to give 15 commands in a single sentence, with multi-person simultaneous conversations throughout the vehicle. External smart voice interaction is also supported, allowing users to control features such as air conditioning and power tailgate through voice commands outside the vehicle.

As the first mainstream pure electric sedan built on the SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) platform, the Galaxy E8 employs the new-generation 800V fast-charging system. The all-domain 800V system covering the battery, motor, power control, and thermal management allows the vehicle to achieve a 180km range with just a 5-minute charging session. Powered by the new high-performance silicon carbide electric drive system, the Galaxy E8 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.49 seconds, despite its length exceeding 5 meters, with a turning radius of only 5.62 meters.

In terms of safety, backed by the Aegis battery safety system, the new-generation BMS (battery management system), and the round-the-clock monitoring by Geely's Xingrui Intelligent Computing Center, the Geely Galaxy E8 has has successfully passed over 1,000 tests in six dimensions, including charging safety, electromagnetic safety, functional safety, high-voltage safety, battery safety, and fire safety, added the automaker.

Structurally, the Galaxy E8 comes standard with integrated boron steel door rings ("TWB") , a ten-grid battery anti-collision compartment, a "Dragonfly" transmission structure, and a co-driver leap-type airbag across its entire lineup.
