Shanghai (ZXZC)- On November 22, Chinese automaker Kaiyi Auto officially put its A00-segment new energy vehicle (NEV) model, the Kaiyi Shi Yue, onto the market. The lineup includes two trim levels with an official price guide ranging from 53,900 yuan to 69,900 yuan.

The name "Shi Yue," explained by the engineering team during the launch event, is derived from a collaborative creation process with users. It signifies "picking up a bright moon," symbolizing a positive mindset, dedication, and pursuit in life. The name also conveys a sense of purity, passion, and, phonetically, echoes "October," symbolizing harvest and gratitude.

Positioned as Kaiyi Auto's latest offering in the NEV segment, the Kaiyi Shi Yue boasts four major features: distinctive exterior design, oversized dimensions, user-friendly configurations, and enhanced power, said the automaker. The exterior adopts a sedan-inspired design, featuring a dynamic biomimetic design for the front eagle-eye headlights, highlighted by a smoked black decorative strip surrounding the lower grille and complemented by honeycomb-shaped panels, creating a sporty vibe.

In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 3,360mm×1,700mm×1,605mm (length × width × height), with a wheelbase of 2,160mm and tire specifications of 165/65 R15. These dimensions place the Kaiyi Shi Yue among the A00-level pure electric vehicles, offering ample interior space for comfortable seating of four adults. The rear design incorporates a through-style taillight with the brand logo positioned in the center.

The Kaiyi Shi Yue's cage-type body structure utilizes high-strength steel, constituting 65% of the overall structure. The vehicle comes equipped with dual airbags, an intelligent anti-skid slope system, and a tire pressure monitoring system. Additionally, to ensure safety and convenience during driving and parking, the vehicle is equipped with a standard 360-degree panoramic imaging system, eliminating blind spots around the vehicle.

In the interior, the Kaiyi Shi Yue adopts trendy color combinations like pink and white, blue and white, catering to the preferences of young drivers. The vehicle comes standard with a 10.25-inch LCD touchscreen, featuring in-car Bluetooth functionality. Furthermore, it houses four high-fidelity speakers and a multifunctional steering wheel as standard features, allowing hands-on operation for music playback, switching, mute, phone calls, and volume adjustment.

The Kaiyi Shi Yue is equipped with practical features such as electrically retractable door handles and keyless entry/start, significantly enhancing the convenience of daily use. In terms of power, the vehicle offers two versions: the Ta Lang ("wave treading") Edition with a peak power of 35 kW and peak torque of 87 N·m, and the Zhui Feng ("Chasing Wind") Edition with a peak power of 40 kW and peak torque of 110 N·m. The CLTC range for the two versions is 201 km and 301 km, respectively, with the Zhuifeng Edition featuring fast charging as standard, while the Ta Lang Edition requires optional installation.
