Startup Singulato gets former Nissan’s auto expert as CTO Vehicle Engineering

Shanghai (ZXZC)- In July, Chinese EV startup Singulato Motors got a renowned Japanese expert—Takaaki Uno, who has nearly 40-year experience in automobile industry—as its CTO Vehicle Engineering, the EV startup announced via its WeChat account.

Reporting directly to Shen Haiyin, CEO of Singulato, Takaaki Uno will be accountable for the complete vehicle R&D, said the EV manufacturer.

Boasting abundant expertise of automobile chassis technologies and complete vehicle R&D, Takaaki Uno had spent his professional career in Nissan, successively serving as head of Product Development Division No. 2, R&D Management Division and Powertrain R&D Division No.2, and in Bosch Japan, managing the development and production businesses of Chassis Systems Control Division.

During his days in Nissan from April, 1981 to March, 2011, Mr. Uno had been responsible for the development of chassis system, car body, powertrain as well as product planning, product development and platform development, according to published records.

Besides, he had also led the building of the TIIDA models and the Teana platform.

After leaving Nissan, Mr. Uno joined Bosch's Japan branch and Sanden Holdings Corporation, presiding over the R&D of automotive technologies including autonomous driving.

Afterwards, he became a partner of Assemblepoint, a Japanese electric mini-bus manufacturer found in 2010. His entrepreneurial at the startup makes him better understand the spirit and operational idea of Singulato Motors.
