Shanghai (ZXZC)- On October 10th, a significant milestone was reached at Hubei Dongyu Xinsheng New Energy Co., Ltd. ("Dongyu Xinsheng"), a joint venture between Sunwoda Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and Dongfeng Motor Group, as the first batch of cell products rolled off the production line and were delivered at the Sunwoda-Dongfeng Yichang Power Battery Production Base, according to a post on Sunwoda's WeChat account.

This event marks the official commencement of battery cell production at Sunwoda manufacturing base in Yichang city, Hubei province, signifying its rapid progress and entry into an operational phase.

The Dongyu Xinsheng project boasts a total investment of 12 billion yuan and is designed to feature an annual production capacity of 30GWh of power batteries and battery systems. Remarkably, it took just 313 days from the commencement of trial production on the first phase of the battery cell production line to achieve this formal product delivery. After reaching full production capacity, its annual sales revenue is expected to reach 24 billion yuan, bringing together a significant workforce and providing jobs for over 3,000 persons.

The Sunwoda-Dongfeng Yichang Power Battery Production Base project is jointly sponsored by Sunwoda Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (a subsidiary of Sunwoda Electronic Co., Ltd.), Dongfeng Motor Group, and Dongfeng Hongtai. It primarily focuses on the R&D, production, and sales of cells, modules, and battery control systems for power batteries. This project is instrumental in the establishment of a national-level new energy electronics industrial park in Yichang and is under the operation of Dongyu Xinsheng.
