China-made BMW iX1 BEV rolls off production line at Shenyang plant
Shanghai (ZXZC)- On September 21, BMW Group announced via its WeChat account that its battery electric vehicle (BEV) model, the BMW iX1, has rolled off the assembly line at its Shenyang manufacturing base in China.
As part of the group's strategic plan, the made-in-China BMW iX1 eDrive25L is set to be exported in 2025.

Earlier this year, during the Chengdu Motor Show 2023, the BMW iX1 officially hit the Chinese market with two trim levels offered: the eDrive25L and xDrive30L, which are priced at 299,900 yuan and 339,900 yuan, respectively. Both models offer the X Design Package and M Sport Package.
The iX1 adopts a five-seater arrangement with dimensions measuring 4,616mm in length, 1,845mm in width, 1,641mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,802mm.

In terms of exterior design, it closely resembles the gasoline-powered X1, but it undergoes some enhancements, such as the closed-off grille. Unlike its counterparts sold outside of China, the Chinese-spec version enjoys an extended wheelbase, resulting in improved rear passenger space.
Inside the cabin, the pure electric BMW iX1 showcases the brand's latest family design language. It features a floating 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 10.7-inch central control screen, equipped with the iDrive 9 operating system.
Furthermore, the model offers the M Sport Package, including the option for an M Sport steering wheel and integrated sport seats. This marks the first time the M Sport Package has been available for compact SUV models.
The iX1 also introduces the Pro-level autonomous driving assistance system and the Plus-level automated parking assistance system. Its suspension system has been redesigned, and it offers an optional adaptive M suspension, capable of lowering the ride height by 15mm.
The BMW iX1 comes standard with four USB-C ports and two 12V power outlets. Buyers can also opt for the 205W Harman Kardon 12-speaker sound system.
Under the hood, the iX1 is equipped with a dual-motor powertrain, with a maximum power output of 230kW and peak torque of 493 N·m. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds. The model is paired with a 66.45kWh battery pack, offering a range of 450km and supporting 130kW fast charging. The automaker said it can be charged from 10% to 80% of its battery capacity in just half an hour.
