BYD Seal DM-i hits market, starting at 166,800 yuan
Shanghai (ZXZC)- On September 6, the BYD Seal DM-i sedan officially hit the market with an attractive price range of 166,800 yuan to 236,800 yuan, introducing a total of six trim levels.
Compared to the pre-sale prices revealed at this year's Chengdu Motor Show 2023, the official pricing of the BYD Seal DM-i has been reduced by 10,000 yuan. Furthermore, BYD has launched a dedicated App and mini program for its Ocean product series, simplifying the vehicle selection process for users.
Last July, BYD introduced its pure electric Seal model, and in May of this year, it unveiled the Seal Champion edition. With the Seal DM-i now joining the lineup, BYD's product portfolio is becoming more comprehensive and diverse.
The BYD Seal DM-i is positioned as a mid-sized sedan, with dimensions of 4,980/1,890/1,495mm in length, width, and height, respectively, and a 2,900mm wheelbase.

In terms of design, the Seal DM-i inherits the Ocean aesthetic philosophy, incorporating elements inspired by the OCEAN X concept car. The front fascia features a "slicing through waves" design with sharp lines and bold headlights, creating a visually striking presence. The large frontal air intake, complemented by an oversized grille, adds to the vehicle's sporty demeanor.
From the side view, the Seal DM-i maintains a sleek and minimalist profile, with sharp character lines running along the body, exuding a sense of swoop motion. Moving to the rear, the through-type taillights, adorned with chrome accents, lend depth to the rear view, and the lower section features aerodynamic enhancements.

Inside the cabin, the BYD Seal DM-i offers a wrap-around cockpit design, housing a 10.25-inch embedded LCD instrument panel, a 12-inch W-HUD, and a 15.6-inch floating central control screen. The central screen is not only rotatable but also equipped with an 8-core high-definition display supporting 4K resolution. Audiophiles will appreciate the 12-speaker HiFi-grade custom Dynaudio system, while safety is reinforced with BYD's NEV-dedicated safety structure and 12 airbags.

On the side of smart technology, the Seal DM-i features the DiLink smart connectivity system, offering full-scene intelligent voice control, an exclusive OneID cabin experience, and a dual-desktop setup.
When it comes to intelligent driving, the Seal DM-i is equipped with the DiPilot intelligent driving assistance system, which includes ACC adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, rear-end collision warning, and more. Additional safety features include a 360-degree panoramic camera system and DMS (driver monitoring system).

Under the hood, the Seal DM-i offers two distinct DM-i power systems: a 1.5L version and a 1.5T version. With both electric and gasoline capabilities, the vehicle provides an impressive combined range of 1,300 kilometers and an NEDC range of up to 200 kilometers on battery power alone. Furthermore, the Seal DM-i boasts a fuel consumption rate of 3.9L/100km and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 7.9 seconds.
