NIO Power to co-construct EV charging, power swap infrastructures with Ascott
Shanghai (ZXZC)- On August 27, NIO Power and Ascott China, a subsidiary of CapitaLand Group's Ascott Limited, formally inked an agreement for cooperation on green energy. The partnership aims to jointly construct electric vehicle (EV) charging and battery swapping infrastructures, so as to advance sustainable development and enhance the overall user experience.

Ascott, a globally recognized player in the serviced apartment and hospitality industry, operates in over 220 cities across 40 countries in Asia-Pacific, Central Asia, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and the Americas. Currently, Ascott manages more than 200 properties in 42 cities in China.
Beyond joint infrastructure development, both companies are dedicated to further enhancing user experiences. In a pilot program set in Shanghai, Ascott will extend exclusive privileges to NIO car owners, granting them membership in the Ascott Star Rewards programme, including expedited Silver-level status for enhanced benefits. In return, NIO Power will provide Ascott's residents with benefits such as Shanghai-based test drive reservations and trial drive privileges. Additionally, the two companies are set to collaborate on crafting self-drive travel itineraries, offering NIO vehicle owners optimal lodging choices.
As of August 27, 2023, NIO has placed 1,696 battery swapping stations nationwide, including 466 stations along expressways, as well as 2,981 EV charging stations with 17,625 charging piles. Meanwhile, it has already had access to over 860,000 third-party charging posts.
