In February of this year, Dongfeng Nami embarked on a new phase of independent brand operation. During this time, Dongchuang Zilian (Wuhan) New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. underwent a corporate resgitration change and was renamed as Dongfeng Motor Nami Technology Co., Ltd. Following this renaming, Dongfeng Nami officially assumed the role of a second-tier unit within the Dongfeng Motor Group, embarking on an independent path of brand operation.
During the same month, Dongfeng Nami expanded its focus on new energy passenger vehicles by investing a total of 5.31 billion yuan in establishing a production base in Xiangyang, Hubei Province, and another new energy passenger vehicle project in Shiyan city’s Economic Development Zone, also in Hubei.
In terms of platform planning, Dongfeng Nami will initiate the S3 platform to develop an entirely new line of pure electric products this year. The S3 platform is a new energy architecture platform independently developed by Dongfeng Motor, with a specific focus on the pure electric small car market. The plan is to introduce two models catering to different market segments within two years. Subsequently, Dongfeng Nami aims to launch a new product annually. The first model built on the S3 platform (code-named S31) is expected to hit the market later this year.
Currently, Dongfeng Nami has a lineup of various models on the market, including the Nami BOX and the EX1 PRO. In the first half of this year, Dongfeng Nami initiated multiple rounds of car purchase promotion campaigns, further boosting its sales activities.
