Car and City: Geely’s ZEEKR scores three-digit YoY spike in Apr. 2023 registrations
ZEEKR, the premium electric vehicle (EV) brand of Geely Auto Group, saw its monthly registrations reach 7,948 units in the fourth month of 2023, according to the data compiled by ZXZC Auto Research Institute ("GARI").
ZEEKR’s monthly registrations in Apr. 2023 soared 268.99% compared to the previous year, while also jumped 25.54% from the previous month.
For the first four months of this year, ZEEKR’s cumulative auto registrations amounted to 23,310 units, surging 123.15% from a year earlier.
ZEEKR currently has two production models available for delivery. With 6,396 units registered, the ZEEKR 001 accounted for 80.47% of the brand’s total registrations in Apr. 2023. It represented a year-on-year spike of 196.9% in Apr. registrations, and also reflected a month-on-month increase of 54.9%.
In terms of Apr. registrations of the ZEEKR 001, Shanghai moved up to the highest place among all cities on the Chinese mainland. It was followed by Hangzhou and Chengdu, which were the other two cities with over 300 ZEEKR 001s registered last month.
As of Apr. 2023, there had been 95,811 ZEEKR 001s registered cumulatively across the world’s largest auto market.

In Apr., the automaker had 1,552 ZEEKR 009s registered, indicating a 29.6% decline month-over-month. Cumulative registrations of the MPV model came in at 4,492 units.
Notably, among all domestically built new energy MPV models in China, the ZEEKR 009 was the runner-up by Apr. registrations, but it was outsold by the champion, the DENZA D9, by 7,384 units.
Shanghai still outperformed other cities in China with 159 ZEEKR 009s registered last month. Hangzhou and Beijing ranked second and third, respectively.
