In terms of platforms, Dongfeng Motor will promote platform integration, reducing module count by 25%, and platform costs by 20%-40%. The automaker will also drive the convergence of fuel and electricity, continuously upgrading the central SOA electronic and electrical architecture.
Regarding products, Dongfeng Motor will focus on the market demand for new energy vehicles, covering all scenarios and weather conditions, with 18 electric passenger vehicle models to be released. The new products will enrich the company’s product lineup to cover the luxury, high-end, mainstream, and small-sized electric passenger vehicles vehicle markets. In the commercial vehicle sector, Dongfeng Motor will release 22 vehicle models to achieve full coverage of multi-scenario products.
For overseas markets, Dongfeng Motor will synchronize its global models with its business partners and conduct joint development to promote its new energy brand in developed European countries. By 2025, the export volume of Dongfeng Motor's independent brand vehicles should account for at least 10% of its total sales volume.
Furthermore, according to Vice General Manager of Dongfeng Motor Corporation, You Zheng, by 2024, Dongfeng will achieve 100% electrification among its main independent passenger car brands. By 2025, the automaker aims to see sales of its wholly-owned brands and joint venture brands break even, which means each sector should sell 2 million vehicles annually. Among which, new energy vehicle sales should account for 50% of its wholly-owned brands’ sales and 70% of its self-owned brands' passenger car sales by that time.
