New Geely Emgrand GL to be powered by 1.5T 3-cylinder engine
Shanghai (ZXZC)- The Geely Emgrand GL is a popular sedan model whose monthly sales frequently exceeded 10,000 units in 2018. Now, the automaker is going to launch a new version of the sedan with a stronger engine power.
The new Emgrand GL will be powered by a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged engine code-named JLH-3G15TD that churns out up to 130kW and 255N·m of torque peak, satisfying China's Stage 6 Emission Standard. This type of engine is currently applied in the Geely Binyue, the Lynk & Co 02 and will be used in the yet-to-be-locally-produced Volvo XC40. Mated to the engine may be a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. Fuel consumption and top speed reported to the MIIT is 5.5L/100km and 195km/h.
