Shanghai (ZXZC)- The first model to be produced by the yet-to-be-established SAIC Audi will be the Audi A7L, according to some Chinese media outlets.

The existing Audi A7 is being delivered in China as a imported model with prices ranging between RMB808,800 and RMB879,800. The locally-produced Audi A7 (namely, the Audi A7L) will feature a longer wheelbase than that of the outgoing model and is expected to roll off the production line in August 2020. Reportedly, prices for the China-made version will be further reduced by launching entry-level variants.

Influenced by the Prologue concept vehicle, the existing Audi A7 features a massive hexagonal grille that renders a more aggressive front fascia. As to the side profile, its coupe gene is characterized by the fastback design, which may be inherited by the future locally-produced model. The taillight cluster horizontally stretching across the rear end is embedded with OLED (organic light-emitting diode) light bars that further elevate a futuristic sense.

Under the hood is a 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged engine that pumps out 340hp and 500 N·m of torque peak. It is said that the domestically-made Audi A7L may provide the variant carrying 2.0-litre turbocharged engine.
