The front face design cues on the three-row MPV include the Geely's signature "cosmos" intake grille coupled with a V-shaped chrome trim, LED headlamps with a four-bar LED arc array for daytime running lights and LED fog lights. The side profile features waistlines stretching from the wheel eyebrow to the rear end and the sooty C-pillar. The model also has a 'floating' roof which tapers down to meet a small-sized tailgate-mounted spoiler.

A chrome trim strip—with Geely lettering—bridges the taillight clusters which feature LED light source as well. Under the tailgate are silver-black shield and the “hidden” exhaust pipes.

Drivers will also find a panoramic wrap-around cockpit, a multifunctional steering wheel and a 7-inch liquid crystal instrumental panel inside the vehicle. Other niceties include a 12.3-inch multimedia display at the center console and an electronic gear lever under the outlet of air conditioner.

The Jiaji will be offered as a six- or seven-seater, in three seating layouts (2+2+2, 2+2+3 or 2+3+2) to meet different consumers' needs.

The Geely Jiaji is fitted with such intelligent driver assistance systems as ICA (integrated cruise assist), TJA (traffic jam assist), ACC (adaptive cruise control), LKA (lane-keeping assist), RCW (rear collision warning), RCTA (rear cross-traffic alert) and Bosch's 9.3 ESP (electronic stability program). Especially, the RCTA system is able to detect cars and pedestrians within 35 meters on both left and right sides when a driver is reversing the vehicle. If any collision risk was sensed, the system will warn the driver by turning on the alert light in rear-view mirrors, delivering risk alarm via a multimedia display and making a warning sound.

Moreover, the new model's safety functions are also characterized by such systems as AEB (autonomous emergency braking), FCW (forward collision warning), LDW (lane departure warning), LCA (lane change assist), BSD (blind spot detection), SLIF (speed limit information function), IHBC (Intelligent High Beam Control) and EPB (electrical park brake), etc.

There were three powertrain variants under the bonnet. The first is a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine assisted by a 48-volt mild hybrid system producing a combined output of 140kW and peak torque of 300 N·m, hooked up to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. The second is a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine-included plug-in hybrid power system that pumps out 188kW and top peak of 385 N·m, mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. The third is a 1.8-litre turbocharged engine that churns out a maximum power of 135kW and peak torque of 300 N·m, paired with a 6-speed automatic manual transmission.
