Lexus UX hits China’s market with 6 variants, priced between RMB268,000 and RMB371,000
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Toyota-owned premium car brand Lexus officially launched its all-new compact SUV model, the Lexus UX, into China’s market on January 23. Prices of 6 variants ranges between RMB268,000 and 371,000.
The UX's exterior exudes a masculine sense with strength and power. The eye-catching Lexus spindle-shaped grille featuring a closed-off mesh renders an aggressive nature. Arrowed-shaped daytime running lamps are integrated with the slim headlights which feature three LED bulbs. Meanwhile, the sports styling of the front face is also characterized by the tusk-shaped grille located immediately below the headlight cluster.
The UX boasts a sharp and powerful side profile that is highlighted by a pair of waistlines (one above the other) stretching from the front to the rear end of the vehicle. The two-tone design of rear-view mirrors offers a sense of delicacy. The large-sized multi-spoke aluminium alloy rims bolster the vehicle's athletic demeanor. Besides, a striking straight red light bar horizontally running through the entire rear end elevates distinctiveness for the new model.
The new SUV model measures 4,495mm long, 1,840mm wide and 1,520mm with a wheelbase that spans 2,640mm, basically similar to such competitors as the BMW X2, the Mercedes-Benz GLA and the Cadillac XT4. Three base versions carry 17-inch rims and tires in size of 215/60 R17, while the other three F SPORT versions are available for 18-inch rims and 225/50 R18 tires.
The Lexus UX offers a spacious passenger room while the overall interior arrangement is quite compact and sporty. Drivers will also find a leather-wrapped steering wheel coupled with paddle shifter, a circular dashboard and a massive floating display at the center console. Other niceties include push-to-start system, multi-zoned automatic air conditioner and TouchPad.
