Chery EXEED TX SUV rolls off production line, to go on sale at the end of March
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Chery's premium car brand EXEED, named “Xingtu” in Chinese, saw its first SUV mode, the EXEED TX, roll off the production line on January 24. The new model is going to hit the market at the end of March to rival such models as the Lynk & Co 01 and the WEY VV6. Besides, its BEV version will be launched next year, according to local media.
The EXEED adopts a grille resembling a big mouth agape. Above the grille, the logo of “EXEED” seamlessly flanked by headlights renders an aggressive front fascia. Several chrome trims horizontally installed inside the grille enhances a three-dimensional quality.
The sporty essence of the side profile is highlighted by a pair of character lines. Particularly, an upward-sloping curve between the B pillar and the rear end creates a ready-to-swoop visual sense.
At the back, the taillight cluster stretching across the vehicle's liftgate is quite trendy nowadays. It packs an exhaust layout with a single pipe on each side.
The cockpit features a rather concise arrangement. A 10.25-inch floating display at the center console and a delicate electronic gear lever generate a futuristic sense that is rather noticeable to the vehicle occupants. In addition, the EXEED TX is the world’s first volume production model that carries Baidu Apollo's IOV OS, a mass-produced and complete operating system solution to internet of vehicles, which boasts applications of smart voice interaction, on-line navigation and facial recognition.
The new SUV model, positioned as a A+ segment SUV, measures 4,690mm long, 1,885mm wide and 1,706mm tall with a wheelbase spanning 2,715mm.
Under the hood, the vehicle will be powered by a 1.6 turbocharged direct injection engine that pumps out 145kW and peak torque of 290 N·m, satisfying the China’s Stage 6 Emission Standard. Mated to the engine is a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
