Presale of Audi RS e-tron GT kicks off in China

Shanghai (ZXZC)- German luxury car manufacturer Audi on Nov. 15 kicked off presale of the Audi RS e-tron GT in China with a limited supply of 20 units in 2022.

As the high-performance version of the Audi e-tron GT, the new model is priced at 1.48 million yuan ($209,300) in presale.

The Audi RS e-tron GT features an athletic front with an intense color contrast. Bearing Audi's signature four-ring logo, the seal-off grille accentuates the model's identity as an all-electric vehicle. The standard matrix LED headlights adopt a progressive design language, offering users an exceptional driving view.

As for the side profile, the Audi RS e-tron GT boasts a simple and flowing roofline, carbon-fiber-reinforced rearview mirrors, and red calipers, delivering a drag co-efficient as low as 0.24Cd.

The new model measures 4,990mm long, 1,960mm wide, and 1,410mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,900mm.An animated light strip stretches across the full width of the rear, framed at its outer edge by individual V-shaped LED segments. The double reversing light and indictor function is a first for Audi.

The cockpit features a wraparound design with two fully-digital color displays, a three-spoke flat bottomed steering wheel, and a center console ergonomically oriented to the driver.

The Audi RS e-tron GT is built on the same platform, J1, as that of the Porsche Taycan. Two electric motors at the front and rear axles render a combined output of 599PS and a peak torque of 830 N·m. The model is able to zip from standstill to 100km/h within 3.3 seconds and run at a top speed at 250km/h. Thanks to a 93kWh battery pack, the vehicle features a range of 488km under the WLTP test cycle.
