Shanghai (ZXZC)- ZEEKR, the premium electric vehicle brand of Geely, announced on Feb. 3 via its WeChat account that its third model is named ZEEKR X, rather than the “ZEEKR 3” recently reported by local media outlets.

ZEEKR claims the yet-to-be-launched model as a “new luxury all-rounder SUV”.

Known under the internal codename BX1E, the ZEEKR X will ride on Geely's SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) electric vehicle platform, the same structure used by ZEEKR for its first two production models--the 001 sedan and 009 MPV.

The ZEEKR X will be an A-segment SUV that measures 4,450mm long, 1,836mm wide, and 1,572mm tall with a wheelbase that spans 2,750mm.

The ZEEKR X will dispense with door handles and adopt frameless rear-view mirrors, said the company.

The fire new model is expected to attracted consumers with a 0-100km/h acceleration time of around 3 seconds.

The ZEEKR X might be priced above 200,000 yuan ($29,620), as Yang Xueliang, senior vice president of Geely Holding Group, said via his personal Weibo account that ZEEKR would not launch a product with a starting price higher than the number. He also disclosed the model would make its debut at the Auto China 2023 in Shanghai.
