Shanghai (ZXZC)- ZEEKR, the premium electric vehicle (EV) brand of Geely, put its second production model, the ZEEKR 009, onto the market on Nov. 1 with two trim levels offered. The WE version's starting price is 499,000 yuan ($68,630), while the ME version starts at 588,000 yuan ($80,870).

The ZEEKR 009 is expected for delivery in Jan. 2023, according to the automaker.

The ZEEKR 009 WE features a CLTC-rated range of 702km thanks to an 116kW battery pack. The ME version is the world's first production model to carry CATL's CTP 3.0 battery (named "Qilin") with a capacity of 140kW, which enables a CLTC range of up to 822km.

The ZEEKR 009's entire model series comes standard with a high-performance permanent magnet synchronous electric drive system, which can churn out up to 400kW. The model can zip from standstill to 100km/h within only 4.5 seconds.

Geely calls the grille design "The Fountain of Light", and it is fitted with 154 LED strips. The daytime running lights are made up of two vertical LEDs on each side. The 1.76-meter taillight cluster is composed of 402 LED light strips.

The side view is characterized by several flat lines, a quasi-floating roof, and multi-spoke wheels, accentuating the essence of sports. The power sliding doors make people getting into and out of the vehicle much easier.

The six-seater MPV model measures 5,209mm long, 2,024mm wide, and 1,856mm tall, with a wheelbase that spans 3,205mm. It carries a curb weight of 2,830kg with a drag coefficient of 0.27Cd.

As for the intelligent driving hardware, the ZEEKR 009 adopts two Mobileye EyeQ5H high-performance chips built on the 7nm process technology, seven 8-megapixel high-definition cameras, four 2-megapixel 360-degree panoramic cameras, one super-long-range millimeter-wave radar (with a detection distance of up to 250 meters), and twelve short-range ultrasonic radars as standard kits across its entire range, in a bid to comprehensively improve the algorithm and sensing capabilities.

The automaker revealed that more than 30 intelligent driver assistance functions will be shipped to the ZEEKR 09 through several OTA upgrades in the future.
