BYD adds new sales network focusing on marketing of NEVs

Shanghai (ZXZC)- BYD will set up a new sales network dubbed "e network" that focuses on the marketing of NEV models, according to local media. Meanwhile, the other "Dynasty" sales network is still dedicated to selling flagship models named after dynasties in Chinese history.

The "Dynasty network" is responsible for such models as the Qin, Tang, Song and Yuan Series as well as the long-rumored Han supercar. The "e" product matrix consists of the "e" sedan series and the "S" SUV series, including 8 models in total, namely, the e1, e2, e3, e5, e6, S2, S3 and S5.

Unlike the "Dynasty" lineup, the vehicles belonging to the "e" lineup feature the English logo of "BYD" rather than the Chinese character "比亚迪".

The building of "e network" helps BYD further enrich its NEV product lineup, spreading roots into A00, A0, A and B segments.

According to patent image exposed by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, we can see that the BYD e1 displays a striking resemblance to the existing BYD F0, while some minor differences can still be discovered. The stylish front face of the e1 is characterized by a block-style grille and dual-ellipse headlights. The broad vertically-placed taillight cluster gives the vehicle its distinct profile.

The BYD e1 measures 3,465mm in length, 1,618mm in wide and 1,500mm in height. Wheelbase length for the new vehicle is 2,340mm.

On the safety front, it is reported that the e1 will be equipped with car backup camera, car reversing radar as well as shark fin antenna. Powering the vehicle is a 45kW permanent magnet synchronous motor with a nickel-cobalt lithium manganese battery pack.

The patent images show that the BYD S2 basically retains the design language of the existing Yuan model. At the front face, the Dragon Face grille features a dot-matrix design that conveys an exquisite visual sense. Its rear end highly resembles that of the Yuan EV yet devoid of the outboard spare wheel. The logo at the rear end tells that the new model is named S2 EV360.

Powering the BYD S2 may be a 70kW Permanent magnet synchronous generator and a ternary-lithium battery pack.
