Shanghai (ZXZC)- HYCAN, a Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) startup partly backed by GAC Group, put its first coupe model, the HYCAN A06, onto the market on Dec. 3, with the deliveries kicking off in Guangzhou and Hangzhou on the same day.

The fire new battery electric vehicle (BEV) model comes with three trim levels, namely, the 550A, the 630C, and the PERFORMANCE, which is priced at 179,800 yuan ($25,840), 199,800 yuan ($28,720), and 269,800 yuan ($38,770).

As for power performance, the 630C carries a 71kWh ternary-lithium battery pack that enables a CLTC-rated range of up to 630km and an electric motor that is good for up to 160kW. The PERFORMANCE is equipped with two electric motors at both the front and rear axles with a maximum combined output of 340kW and a peak torque of 534 N·m, and can zip from 0-100km/h within only 3.7 seconds. The 550A has a range of up to 550km under the CLTC test cycle.

The HYCAN A06 PERFORMANCE is expected for delivery next year.

Thanks to the streamlined body design dubbed "water drop storm", the A06 features a drag coefficient as low as 0.217Cd. It measures 4,965mm long, 1,841mm wide, and 1,243mm tall, with a wheelbase that spans 2,850mm.

HYCAN said it has upgraded its intelligent driving and connected system to the H-VIP2.0, which was first applied in the HYCAN A06. The H-VIP system encompasses smart voice interaction, visual speech augmentation engine, intelligent driver assistance, the SPA intelligent parking system, and other functions.

Based on the H-VIP2.0, the HYCAN A06's entire model series comes standard with the Qualcomm 8155 chip, which contributes to the three-second activation for the company's in-house developed infotainment system HI-OS.

The A06's cockpit boasts the wrap-around "zero-gravity" design, said the NEV maker. It comes standard with one-piece sports seats and a 14.6-inch high-definition console-mounted display.
