Tencent-backed mapmaker NavInfo, China Mobile’s LBS arm team up on location-based service
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Tencent-backed mapmaker NavInfo and China Mobile Location-based Service Center recently inked a cooperation framework agreement focusing on location-based service (LBS), NavInfo announced on December 12.
Under the agreement, both parties will make full use of their respective product merits and technology resources to extend in-depth business collaboration in such fields as map data, big data application, smart public security, commercial operation and joint innovation and team up on marketing and brand promotion.
The cooperative programs include the national electronic navigation map data, the data of high-definition (HD) map at a scale of 1:2000, the real-time traffic and road incident data as well as the industrial application of big data-based foot-traffic heat map and smart traffic light, etc.
A NavInfo’s executive said that the cooperation signals a deep fusion of both parties’ common mindset as location-based services have penetrated into people’s daily life. China Mobile Location-based Service Center, operated as China Mobile’s LBS construction and operation unit, has developed multiple high-quality LBS products, devoting more convenient and smarter services to facilitating cities’ construction. NavInfo will assist the partner with brand sustenance, core business abilities and innovative services by exploiting its advantages in digital map, dynamic transportation information, ICV and location-based big data.
