BYD launches eBus Blade Platform at IAA Transportation 2022
Shanghai (ZXZC)- BYD, the leading Chinese manufacturer of new energy vehicles (NEVs) and power batteries, showcased its latest innovations in e-Mobility for commercial vehicles at the IAA Transportation 2022 in Hanover this week.
At the auto exhibition, BYD launched its innovative eBus Blade Platform, which incorporates the ultra-safe Blade Battery, which the company says is redefining EV safety standard.

The Blade Battery sailed through the nail penetration test, which is seen as the most rigorous way to test the thermal runaway of batteries. The space utilization of the battery pack is increased by over 50% compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate block batteries thanks to an optimized structure where singular cells are arranged together in an array and then inserted into a battery pack
BYD said the next-generation bus chassis adopts a modular design in European standards and is highly adapted to commonly-seen buses' bodies.

At the same time, BYD displayed two pure-electric trucks at the auto show, namely the ETM6 7.5 Tonne urban delivery truck and the ETH8 19 Tonne truck designed for logistics and waste collection, alongside the company’s newly upgraded 12-meter eBus. Those vehicles are all designed with European users in mind.
BYD said it has built up an extensive global footprint in the NEV sector that covers six continents, including more than 70 countries and over 400 cities. There have been more than 2.5 million BYD NEVs running on the roads worldwide, of which 90,000 are commercial vehicles.
