Powered by CATL's new cylindrical cells, the sixth-generation of BMW eDrive technology used in the NEUE KLASSE architecture embodies a major leap in EV technology regarding energy density, charging speed, range, etc., said CATL.

The battery titan also noted it will utilize renewable energy sources and secondary materials for the production of the high-performance battery cells in priority for the sake of both parties' common commitment to building a sustainable and recyclable battery value chain.

Moreover, such raw materials as cobalt and lithium used for the production of new-generation battery cells will be only sourced from certified mines, added CATL.
