Shanghai (ZXZC)- Beijing Benz (BBAC) saw its front-wheel drive (FWD) car plant completed on November 21 and a Mercedes-Benz A-Class L sedan, also BBAC's 2 millionth vehicle, officially roll off the production line on the same day.

The Mercedes-Benz A-Class long-wheelbase version offers two variants for consumers' free choice. The one is the A-Class L sedan, which adopts glossy black trims at the intake grille and a more stylish bumper. The other is the A-Class L sport sedan that features a matrix intake grille decorated with chrome trims and a sporty hood with muscle-shaped lines.

With a smooth side profile, the Mercedes-Benz A-Class long-wheelbase carries large-sized multi-spoke aluminium alloy rims. The new model measures 4,622mm in length, 1,796mm in width and 1,454mm in height, which is 60mm longer than that of the existing model, satisfying Chinese consumers' special needs on larger passenger room. Wheelbase for the new sedan is up to 2,789mm.

At the rear end, there is ducktail design above the trunk coupled with two dual exhaust pipes at the bottom. The A-Class L sport sedan boasts some unique details in the rear bumper.

Inside, the A-Class L sedan is largely covered by black with a piano lacquer panel and a great deal of silver trims. Both the display integrating two 10.25-inch screens at the center console and the 64-color ambiance lamp that offers 10 kinds of color themes augment the futuristic essence for the vehicle.

Based on the details mentioned above, the A-Class L sports sedan will be outfitted with a multifunctional sports steering wheel, sports seats and dark carbon fiber plaque. Moreover, the new model will boast the all-new infotainment system MBUX to enhance the driving safety.

The Mercedes-Benz A-Class long-wheel is powered by a 1.3T four-cylinder engine with two power variants, mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. Maximum outputs for two engine variants are 100kW and 120kW respectively. Driven by such powertrain, the new vehicle can sprint from 0-100km/h within 8.4 seconds.
