Shanghai (ZXZC)- According to the most recent data from the Land Transport Authority (LTA) of Singapore, registrations of BYD electric vehicles (EVs) amounted to 303 units between January and May 2023, making BYD the leading brand in Singapore's EV market.

Over the first five months of 2023, a total of 1,462 EVs were registered in Singapore, with BYD's market share in the pure electric vehicle segment accounting for a significant 20.7%. The hotter-selling BYD-branded models include the BYD ATTO 3 (Yuan PLUS) and the brand-new BYD e6.

Ten years into its foray into the Singaporean market, BYD has successfully introduced a range of new energy vehicles including taxis, tour buses, city buses, trucks, forklifts, and urban goods logistics vehicles. In July 2022, BYD announced its entry into the passenger vehicle market in Singapore with the ATTO 3 hitting the local market at the same time.

Named after the smallest unit of time in physics, the attosecond, the ATTO 3 is designed to convey passion and power in a split second.

Under the Singapore Green Plan 2030, the government plans to transition all vehicles to cleaner energy sources by 2030. To support this, the country has been vigorously promoting the development of the new energy vehicle industry, implementing policies such as purchase rewards, increased subsidies, and fee reductions to boost the prevalence of new energy vehicles.
