Shanghai (ZXZC)- HiPhi, the luxury EV brand from Chinese startup Human Horizons, said earlier this week it sold 316 HiPhi Xs, in April 2022, making the model continue to sit among the first-tier group of all-electric luxury vehicles in China priced over 500,000 yuan ($73,660).

Partly affected by the coronavirus-caused pressure over the supply chain, production, and logistics links, the April sales of the HiPhi X dropped 45.3% compared to the previous month.

For the first four months of the year, HiPhi sold 1,680 HiPhi Xs in total.

On the first anniversary after delivery began, the automaker launched a policy which offers free battery upgrade to buyers of the HiPhi X's four-seater version, and subsidies to the six-seater version's buyers who want to upgrade the battery pack to 120kWh.

As for product update, the lineup of the HiPhi X greeted two new variants with a longer CLTC-rated range (650km) in March. Both new versions come with six luxury technology amenities, including a Meridian audio system, a 19.9-inch entertainment screen for passengers, a customizable smart fragrance system by Givaudan, interior light panels, a HEPA biochemical filter, and a driver physical monitoring system.

The automaker launched its second production model, the HiPhi Z, last year and plans to start delivery this year. The model will vie with the likes of the NIO ES7 and the Mercedes-Benz EQE.
