Shanghai (ZXZC)- IM Motors, the premium electric vehicle (EV) maker backed by SAIC Motor, Alibaba Group, and Zhangjiang High-Tech, put its first SUV model, the IM LS7, onto the market on Feb. 10.

Coming with six trim levels, the new model features a price range of 309,800 yuan-459,800 yuan ($45,400-$67,380) and is expected for official delivery in March. Of them, the 77kWh Standard Range Pure RWD version will be available for presale in the second half of 2023 with its delivery to commence this year.

As the second production model under the IM brand, the LS7 is positioned as a full-sized SUV, which measures 5,049 long, 2,002mm wide, and 1,731mm tall, with a wheelbase that spans 3,060mm. The five-seater SUV has a spacious 1,030-mm headroom.

The six variants are evenly divided by RWD and AWD versions. The AWD version is powered by two electric motors that are good for a combined output of 425kW and 725N·m of peak torque, while the RWD’s motor can churn out up to 250kW and 475 N·m.

The IM LS7 has an IMAX-level driving view, partly thanks to the "Star Fall” front sky dome which is molded with the same advanced technology and special manufacturing equipment as the China-made C919 passenger jet. Coupled with the mass-produced "YAT Cruise Half-spoke Steering Wheel" and "Auto-lifting Massive Smart Scenario Screen", the driver’s screen view is unobstructed, enabling up to 106-degree longitudinal view and an industry-leading visible area.

Besides, the “Three-Layer Silver Plating Technology” applied onto the vehicle’s roof windscreen can achieve an UV isolation rate of 99.99%, said the automaker. The 45cc air conditioner compressor and the “Air Curtain” contribute to an instant cooling effect.

Meanwhile, IM Motors introduced to the public the mid-to-high-nickel 6-series single-crystal high-voltage 100kWh battery, which can add a range of 400km with a 26-minute charging session and realize a maximum range of 660km under the CLTC test cycle for the LS7.

Regarding auto intelligence, the IM LS7 is equipped with NVIDIA’s OrinX intelligent driving chip, two LiDAR units, Qualcomm’s 8155 SoC, the AMOLED 2K interaction screen, etc.

In the aspect of software, the LS7 SUV is powered by the IM OS 2.0, IM Motor’s new-generation full-domain integrated intelligent and interactive operating system.
